Export Sales Manager

Thomas Dudley Ltd has an outstanding reputation for product innovation and excellent customer service delivery. Distributing branded and own label lines the company has ambitious plans to increase presence in existing and new markets overseas.

Reporting into the Export Manager this is a new role created in response to the continued success of Export Sales across the business. We are seeking an experienced Sales professional who will implement, support and deliver strategically aligned regional export sales plans.

Based in the UK the Export Sales Manager must demonstrate a solid track record with proven experience of generating sustainable export sales growth through distributors and other channels. The role will include frequent travel across Europe, Middle East, Caribbean and Australia based at our head office in the West Midlands when in the UK. Extensive travel will be required over long periods and therefore flexibility to accommodate this will be needed.

The successful candidate will be based in the Midlands and commutable to the West Midlands group head office.

Your bit…

  • Managing and developing the existing distributor network and continuing to establish long-term strategic partnerships across the globe.
  • Secure existing accounts and increase new business to maximise contribution to the Company’s sales and profit goals.
  • Consistently build market insights in each of the overseas regions we are working in to increase ongoing sales opportunities and identify potential sales leads
  • Support and liaise with the company’s marketing department relating to requests for product information, web leads, PR opportunities and exhibitions/CPD opportunities.
  • Design and execute market entry plans, support with product trend analysis and new product development recommendations.
  • Attending meetings, trade shows and exhibitions in the UK and across the globe to forge stronger relationships with partners and analyse competition
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting of all activities

What you need to do it…

  • An understanding of international markets and experience of selling through distributors or new international channels would be advantageous
  • Proven track record of securing new business is essential
  • First rate communication and presentation skills with the ability to build strong long-term client relationships
  • Able to travel internationally when required and work outside of ‘core’ office hours as the business requires
  • Ability to thrive on change and be able to push the business into new opportunities
  • Flexibility in approach, adaptable in difficult circumstances and continuously strive to achieve results
  • Confident, highly organised with excellent problem solving capability
  • A tenacious, driven and enthusiastic approach with excellent interpersonal skills
