Head of Sales - TYDE

Thomas Dudley Ltd has an outstanding reputation for product innovation and excellent customer service delivery.  At an exciting time in the company’s 100 year history we are now looking to recruit a dynamic, high performing Head of Sales to drive business growth supporting our vision of excellence and quality.

Reporting into the Business Unit Director for TYDE (part of the Thomas Dudley Group of Companies) the successful candidate will strive to meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. Developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans, successfully executing these to achieve our financial targets.

The role duties will include hitting annual targets, building relationships and understanding customer trends alongside managing both internal and external sales teams.

The role will be predominantly based at our Head Offices in Dudley in the West Midlands, however occasional travel and overnight stay may be required across the UK to support suppliers and customers’ 

Your bit… 

  • Owning and hitting/exceeding company sales targets
  • Own plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals
  • Responsible for the sales team and the delivery of sales targets and KPIs
  • Setting activity and revenue targets for members of the sales team
  • Building a team that maintains strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Continual training and development of all members of the sales department
  • Prepares forecasts and KPI reporting for the management, for use in organisational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting and strategic planning.
  • Provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development
  • Working on account management plans with the sales account managers
  • Execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
  • Assist in developing the inbound lead requirements needed to meet the sales objectives
  • Effectively communicate our value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understand specific landscapes and trends within the markets
  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts refining strategy accordingly
  • Evangelise the product and personally help close largest deals
  • Work collaboratively across teams - including Product and Marketing
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Establish and foster partnerships and relationships with key customers both externally and internally
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
  • Conducts monthly 121s with all team members to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of the sales team and activity performance. 
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance

What You Need To Do It… 

  • Previous experience in a Head of Sales/Sales Director role would be preferential 
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing sales strategy, delivering business growth against set KPI’s
  • A strong leader / people manager with a proven track record of building successful sales teams
  • Previous experience of creating and presenting sales coaching / training, supporting individual personal development
  • First rate communication skills with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Confident, highly organised, possessing a meticulous approach with a keen eye for detail
  • Sales CRM (SalesForce, MS Dynamics or similar)
  • Vaild UK driving licence is essential
