Quality Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer reporting into the Quality Manager the post holder will provide professional support and advice to production and the wider business on all aspects of quality within TD Foundry Duport Tipton.  This role will be integrated into a fast paced business environment working directly with operational and supply chain teams, supporting the Quality Manager with day to day issues.

Your bit…


  • Develop and build on relationships with customers and the internal commercial team
  • Work closely with Operations providing technical support for products and processes
  • To ensure customer standards are understood and implemented at all stages of the manufacturing process
  • Create and manage work instructions at every stage of manufacturing, ensuring all departments utilise them and audit system to monitor progress
  • To address any customer concerns/issues promptly and co-ordinate solutions efficiently
  • Lead investigations for customer complaints and any product defect analysis
  • Support all product and QMS compliance
  • Improve the standards of the processes using information collected from production / customer and applying problem solving techniques, analysing the data to drive process improvements
  • Maintain and improve agreed quality standards to ISO9001 in conjunction with the Quality Manager
  • Prepare quality related reports and KPI information to senior management and the wider business

What you need to do it…

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of using and training others in quality tools and technique
  • A self-starter with the ability to work under his or her own directive, well organised and able to follow through to project completion
  • Internal auditing experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence and the ability to work well and under pressure
  • Meticulous approach to all tasks with a keen eye for detail
