We are very pleased to announce our first female Engineering Apprentice ... Abigail Brown, who has joined us this week as a Toolroom Apprentice. Abi is on her second year with Dudley College studying a Level 3 Tool & Dye qualification and is already planning to move onto her HNC level 4.
I asked Abi to tell me a little bit about herself and how she decided on engineering.
"My brother is in the industry and inspired me to do something that a lot of females wouldn't do. But I want to show that women can be engineers and can excel within the industry. I enjoy being a toolmaker as I find it intriguing and there is always something new to solve each day. I am also not afraid to get stuck in and get my hands dirty"
