The Proclaimers sang 'I would walk 500 miles'. But our sponsored walker Simon 'walked 1200 miles'!
A fundraiser came to the RNLI’s Penlee Lifeboat Station this week having walked 1200 miles to raise £1808.36 in funding for the station.
Simon and Dawn James from Wordsley in the West Midlands had great support from colleagues at his workplace Thomas Dudley Ltd. Some of the workers walked with him at times and the company kindly donated a further £250.
We are very grateful for their support which will help our lifeboats save lives. ‘Ivan Ellen’ is our 55 foot Severn Class Lifeboat - the biggest in the fleet, and she is joined by the B class Atlantic lifeboat ‘Mollie and Ivor Dent’ one of the fastest.
